Let me be very clear, I believe we currently need capitalism. We need capitalism to stimulate ingenuity, creativity, prevent slothfulness, stimulate livelihoods, et cetera. The simple motivation of the individual to increase their chances or better themselves cannot be lost or ignored either. However, capitalism is under threat. But when I hear people discussing this threat, I rarely hear proponents asking the tough question of how it is possible that some are so susceptible to socialism.
Unfortunately, in the minds of many people, capitalism has moved away from being a reward of motivation to better themselves or their situations, and a means for conquering challenges, encouraging ingenuity, hard work, and industriousness. Instead, it has become perceived as a means of punishment for circumstances beyond their control or for their nonconformity. It has also come to be viewed by some as a perception or justification not to care for fellow humans as much as is needed.
When I was younger, I dreamed of having my own business. So, I worked hard and smart, went to the business college that I could afford, worked a job, took out student loans, and received my degrees. Even though I have long sensed abandoned that dream, I still believe in particular forms of capitalism. Yet, I fear when faced with the same or similar obstacles and experiences, that I have been faced with, younger generations may abandon capitalism. I do not want younger generations to abandon capitalism.
I believe we must bring back the true opportunity and wonder that is in capitalism. I am not talking about doing for others but removing the impossible obstacles that are placed by others that are not of their own doing. Removing the hand that is pushing down often has more of an effect than giving a hand up.
I also believe capitalism is not exclusively under threat from socialism but from its own worst elements. We must not allow crony capitalism to sour the potential of capitalism. We must not allow some to be judged by separate standards of conduct. We cannot allow dishonor or lies to be justifiable or explained away. The double standards that we act upon, reluctantly accept, or even marginally tolerate today can be easily applied to us tomorrow. In these times we cannot afford for capitalism to become tarnished. Unless we police ourselves, many more may very well begin to abandon it.

Changing World Today: Divisions in the World
It is the current significant divisions in the world that we must be concerned with, no matter our physical location. What I find in the world currently most pressing is the current division that is rapidly becoming a significant ‘powder keg’, with the possibility of being set off. What I find different about this time than previous times, is the simultaneous questioning. It is not just democracies throughout the world being threatened or questioned, authoritarian or totalitarian governments are also being questioned. While I believe governments of all kinds need to be held accountable, in these times some governments are being unjustifiably questioned in certain ways while others are questioned justifiably. And yes, in general, I find a threat to a democracy more disturbing than a threat to an authoritarian or totalitarian. Yes, it is disturbing but, I believe this is not what I find most distressing. I see this time as an analogy of seeing both your car and your house on ...
Therefore, ironically, I sometimes wonder if it is not for the better or such a ‘bad thing,’ that either position is unable to fully realize or complete their full fantasy of goals. My immediate reasoning for this is that the one that could fully reach their fantasy of goals, might be the one that, I fear. And, even if it were the one that I agree with, there is always the danger that the side that I agree with would see their success as justification to go to the extreme.

I believe the macro is a collective consequence of the numerous and diverse micros, with some micros having more of an impact than others depending on when, where, and what that micro is. And of course, that again depends on if the micro in question could be just one of the many micros that make up that, or another macro. The debate of the macro and micro is a very old debate. An old expression from this is: “can’t see the forest through the trees'', getting lost in the details. Yes, it is important not to get lost in the details but, sometimes focusing on the details can be even more so important to the whole picture. Yes, it is important to be realistic but, we must not easily dismiss the possibilities, good and bad, that can be a result of the micros. ‘Case in point’, and back to the old saying of “can’t see the forest through the trees”; what if in this ‘forest’ a particular ‘tree’ happens to be infested with something detrimental to the whole forest, or even smoldering that looks like ...
It seems to me, we politically, are being driven to choose between Corruption and Incompetence or Weakness and Cluelessness. #Vote anyway – Use it or you will lose it!
